I first became passionate about birth and breastfeeding in 1997 while working on my degree in Women’s Studies at SFU.  In January of 2004, I gave birth to my first child with the loving support of my doula, husband and midwives. This birth experience revealed the intuitive wisdom and strength that women have to birth their babies. It showed me that regardless of how birth unfolds, we all cross the threshold into motherhood.

After the birth of my son I was inspired to make doula care and childbirth preparation my life’s work.  In July 2007, I gave birth to our second child, surrounded by a loving circle of support.  Being a mother of two children has deepened my commitment to my work in supporting new families.

We live in the Cowichan Valley on beautiful Vancouver Island and I am honored to support women and their families in our community as well as in the Comox Valley. I am passionate about initiating women into motherhood in a positive and inspiring way and strive to preserve this profound rite of passage for women and their partners.
